University of Iowa:  (Dan Toney)

Summer is a time of reflection on the past year, but also a time of preparation and getting excited for the coming year.  It is fun to reflect back on the exciting things that God did throughout the last year like:

· The 7 students who gave their lives to Christ through baptism including Wen who is from a Buddhist family in China.
· The successful first year of our Sunday morning worship service on campus called "The Experience".  It helped us to reach out to more students on campus then we ever have before.
· The awesome spring break mission trip to Panama City, Florida, where 17 of us from Iowa shared the love of Christ to those who were there to party.  Our students did a great job of reaching out to the students around them.  They also came back to campus with a new zeal to share the love of Christ with their fellow students here.
· The spiritual growth of our students.  It is so neat to see them grow in their faith.  One student wrote, "You truly have helped me stretch my faith this year."
· The powerful prayer meetings we had.
· The great men's and women's "Deeper" Bible study groups.

The list could go on and on, but we saw over and over the truth of our theme verse for the year, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."  -Luke 18:27.

We also are getting excited about the coming year.  Each year is different in campus ministry and there are tough times also, but we know that with God on our side, we can't go wrong.   We also know that prayer is "powerful and effective" so please PRAY FOR US.

1) Pray for the continued growth of our Sunday morning service.  We feel like this is what sets us apart from any other Christian group on campus.  The potential is huge.  We meet in the Memorial Union at 11:00 am.
2) Pray that we will get off to a good start.  The first few weeks of the semester are the most important weeks of the year.
3) Pray for our student leaders.
4) Pray for the staff here:  Jeff Kuhne and me (Dan Toney) that we will be Godly leaders.
5) Pray for all of the freshmen that will be leaving home for the first time and will be making huge decisions about their faith.
6) Pray that students will come to know Christ.

If you would like to be added to my e-mail prayer list just send me an e-mail at Dan@ccfiowa.com.   Thanks for reading.  What a mighty God we serve!
